Hi, I received complaints about functionality in some apps today from clients and I see our Appsmith version is currently Appsmith Community v1.8.15. This is many updates behind what it should be, it seems that about 3 months ago the auto-update functionality stopped working. I do not want to start fixing bugs before being on the latest version. Please advise.
#Self hosted AWS server not auto-updating when it was previously

Hi there!
To update your appsmith instance to the latest version, you should first update
the instance to v1.9.2, confirm everything is working fine, then update to the
latest version which is v1.9.13.
Let me know if you encounter any issues along the line
So this process will not be automatic?
We need automatic updates, which was enabled
Unfortunately, the process of this update is not automatic.
You stated earlier that you enabled auto-update and somehow, it got disabled.
I can't say exactly how this might have happened but if auto-update is currently
not enabled, you should first manually update to the latest version through the
process recommended earlier, then enable auto-update again.
I hope this is not too much trouble for you.
So manually update to v1.9.2, then re-enable auto-update? is that correct?
then auto update should update to v1.9.13?
I just need to be clear on the steps, as I will not be doing this myself, I will be passing the information onto the server manager
Sorry for the late response.
both updates should be done manually.
I see, is there documentation on backing up everything before doing this, we have many apps live at the moment
Yes. We have a guide on how to do just that.

Thank you, action can only be taken tomorrow, I'll report issues or close the thread if everything gets worked out
