hey guys im new here but i thought id make a post about this bc i didnt find anyone talking about it (if im wrong about that im sorry) basically i use a 2in1 laptop so it has a tablet mode and in that mode i find it have to select multiple files. i click the file icons/checkbox but due to the size i often accidentally miss and deselect everything. i hope one day a feature could be implemented where there is a setting toggle where i can press and hold then make a box over files to select them like u can with a mouse but with my finger instead. is something similar in progress or has been discussed?

You can touch the icon of the item to select, or do you mean drag selection?
i can select individualy each item but yea drag selection where u make a box and it selects multiple items at once doesnt work (i didnt know the name) in file explorer if u press and hold with your finger for lil second you can drag select multiple items but that doesn't work in files and idk i thought it could be a good feature, its honestly my only inconvenience when in tablet mode
is this a feature that is planned/considered to come one day? bc file explorer supports it and would be awesome to have that back
I assume you made this but just to be sure, we will continue tracking adding support in https://github.com/files-community/Files/issues/17961 You can check there or click subscribe in the right sidebar for updates.
i did thank you:)
