#Mobile device managment feature in Files

I'm pretty sure it can be done already if you know the correct guid
wdym by correct GUID
How does File Explorer access it?
I genuinely have no idea yet, maybe similar to having the phone connected as USB?
Can you enter the address into Files?
File Explorer doesn't have MDM access to a connected phone
Files displays the exact same UI as that of Explorer; just the folder structure of the emulated storage of the phone
What @ocean chasm is talking about is the features from the Phone Link app integrated into Files directly
As in, these kinds of features
With ability for controls such as file system access, and also poweruser settings such as ADB controls
Or integrated photos export
@shut birch
I think I already figured it out
Yep, this is the way I have used them
Pinning could work maybe?
Also, first impressions:
It slows down Files as it has to download the photos first
but after downloading: it goes back to normal
yes it works
I think it should be possible to check the C:\Users\[username]\CrossDevice directory for any existing devices and then add those to the "Network" or "Drive" sections of the sidebar right?
That's how it planned to be added https://github.com/files-community/Files/issues/16419
How many devices do users typically have in that folder? Would it be preferable to add devices directly under ‘home’?
Right now Microsoft only allows one connected, the folder gets replaced if you enable another device.
That helps
