meaning it will only scroll the column where the cursor is located at vertically. if one needs to scroll horizontally, pressing shift is necessary.

not sure the intention of this feature, but it works more like a bug.

consider this, half the columns don't have any blank area, the same input, scrolling, yet the behavior changes left and right, can't say this is ideal.

if anything, it significantly increases instead of decreasing the labor to correctly scroll to the the target file. and probably, some bugs in the column view at the moment can be ascribed to this feature.

is that issue the same? i thought this horizontal scrolling when hovering over blank area is intended as a feature?

well, if it also scrolls horizontally while hovering over blank area in other views, i would argue that's also bad, just not as disastrous as in the column view.
