Havign a community discord is kinda pointless if you remove all ways for the community to communicate.

You wrote you did that to improve the community. I think you did that because doing community work is just too much work. Kinda sad to see in which direction this project is going. Yeah i get that you want this project to be commercially viable but this smells.

Had to put it here because there is no way left to start an discussion.

Maybe just open an general channel again where one could just talk with other community members?

Hi @signal bison I appreciate your frustration but not sure quite where this is coming from? I’m the brand new developer advocate here at Directus with community in my remit and I know we are committed to creating a space that we would want to be part of ourselves.

Setting up #1019641731332976722 in this new Discord forum format is merely a tool to help us support users more efficiently (as you can imagine, a big single channel is horrible for this).

We have other channels which are open and people talk in, but I must ask - what would YOU like to see in a community space? It's ok throwing open more channels, but what would you want/expect to happen in them?

And this isn't an exercise in deflection - it's a genuine open dialog that can help shape what this (and other community spaces we have) may become. Appreciate your time, and if you'd rather do this over email or in a call I'm perfectly open to that 🙂

(FYI I'm in Germany so it's past midnight - happy to keep chatting here but it's going to be after I get my beauty sleep)
