#Open Node in main window

When clicking on a node in a table the default used to be to open in the current window, with the ability to shift-click to open in the sidebar. Now it opens in the sidebar by default and there is no way to open in the main window.

I would urge consistence, with shift-click being the standard action to open in the sidebar.

At the very least allow this to be set in the settings.

And/or at least allow shift-click to open in the current window.

I am struggling a bit with this new implementation. I do not always rely on the sidebar as designed now.
On smaller monitors, this would be a bit of a challenge because we have to open content to the sidebar, then use the open as page to open it in the center "content bar."

We’re working on table cell keyboard navigation and other ux enhancements including this one.

I personally (most of the time) like opening it in the sidebar, but it would be a nice touch if the page icon (first picture, upper left corner of the second) was clickable, like the block bullets. That would make it faster than the current option we have to open it in the main window - clicking the three dots menu and selecting "Open as page"

Today I see a new workflow here.

Clicking the text opens a window with the text in larger type. There is an arrow on the right side of this window, which will open the node in a new page.

If, instead, you hover over the text, you see an icon to open it in the sidebar.

Can't say I'm crazy about this UI, since you have to click twice to get it to open in a new page. It also feels a bit unintuitive to me.

I would prefer a single icon that shows up in the table cell itself which can be clicked or shift-clicked to open in the sidebar or a page, and the default could be set in the settings.

However, I'll mark this as solved since it does address the main issue ...

Yes, we're still thinking about whether to display a bullet there because the ux will be more complex in the table cell, instead, you can click the table cell to edit it, shift+click to open it in the sidebar, command+click(Mac) or ctrl+click (Linux/Windows) to redirect to the block, it might be revisisted as we receive more feedbacks on it.
