What if I told you that the series 6 onwards all support 26, but future versions may require the series 9 onwards. If you really hate watchOS 26 then you’re going to want to get a series 9 as they’ll likely support the newer and better versions, and they’re infinitely better.

the series 6-8 will probably be left on 26

Also, if your iPhone is running iOS 26 and you receive a watch on watchOS 11 or something you’ll likely be forced to watchOS 26 anyway
