#thinking of whether of getting an ipad or a samsung tab

Get an iPad, trust me it's far better than the Samsung tab. As for what iPad you should get, it depends on three questions:
- What is your use case?
- What is your budget?
- What are your needs?
The three options I'd recommend are the iPad mini, iPad Air, or iPad Pro. Never get the base iPad.
my use case is really just trying out ipad, maybe youtube, ea fc 26, roblox, schoolwork like video call, homework
budget is £1300 and my needs is mainly a large display, better refresh rate for gaming
Probably an iPad Pro then. The ProMotion display (variable up to 120hz) tends to be pretty noticeable when gaming. You can either get the 11" size, or a 13" size.
ah i see, i see a pretty good deal with my retailer that has a discount for ipad pro 13 inch and 11 inch
Hi! Take an iPad, Air. It’s great. You get a big screen with a very good resolution, and the iPad has a great operating system, iPadOS. If you also have an iPhone you can connect on the same Apple ID and build your ecosystem
okay! that one im also considering, i would like to know what advantages are there than a samsung tab, as i see the samsung tab has 14.6 inches
Do you have an iPhone?
yes
Then get the iPad. This way you build the Apple Ecosystem, you can pause a task from iPhone and continue on iPad or the opposite, airdrop, find my, and a lot more features
alright, thats very useful so ipad pro or ipad air
It depends on the use you need it for
Tell me what will u do with it
i just want to use it to see what an ipad is like, youtube, schoolwork like video calls, homework in documents, writing notes, playing games like roblox ea fc 26, wanting to use it like a touchscreen laptop
Yeah then you can buy the Air M4, it’s a solid choice
hmm i see the m4 is a good chip
Yeah it is, it’s also used in Mac so it’s very powerful
the ipad pro is totally overkill, an air m4 will last you the longest, but even the standard ipad can do everything you want to do
someone told me the standard ipad is the worst value
the only problem is the ipad air is 60hz
same for standar ipad
and also the base ipad isnt big enough
the base model is always the best value for any apple product
you get virtually 90% or more feature parity
i see, but is it 120hz? thats also what im looking for
if not, i can find a used ipad which i don't really mind
if 120hz is a dealbreaker then yea go for it
is only the ipad pro 120hz? or is the other ones 120hz too
as far as im aware only the ipad pro is 120hz
so is ipad pro good
i have one and enjoy it but admittedly could do pretty much everything i do with it on the standard ipad
It absolutely is
Standard iPad is the worst here. the Air should be a minimum
if you must save money, get a refurb M2 Air
Only the Pro is 120hz
so if you need that ProMotion display get an M5 Pro
or even an M4
the base model is still the best value considering you can get 2 ipads for 1 ipad air
keyword value
i reckon the base ipad is good for 90% of people lol
It's actually the worst and you lose a lot of stuff
You don't get Apple Intelligence, it's underspecced, the A16 chip in it runs hot and has poor battery life... there's a long list of issues with the base iPad as it is right now
You can get a refurbished iPad Air M2 for a similar price to a new base iPad, and the Air M2 is still going to be a better iPad
apple intelligence is very useful
even if you don't care about Apple Intelligence, I can assure you it'll get better with future updates. It's already in a good state now and it's only getting better. And some other non-Apple Intelligence features may require an A17 Pro or M1 or higher in the future anyway.
i would agree with that
i like the 13 inch its just too expensive, so i may get 11 inch
my cracked m1 pro is still balling
11 inch is a good deal for its price
@main arch Nope, Intel Macs do not support Apple Intelligence and won't be getting updates beyond Tahoe. You're better off just getting a newer Apple Silicon model
even if you already have an Intel Mac that works you may want to consider upgrading soon
i have an m2 air
yeah, all set there.
but yeah the iPad Pro (M5) would be the best option for you
maybe an M4 if you want to save a little money
hmm i see, thats a good option its just that id prefer if its wifi + cellular as it may be not good that i cant use it outside with no wifi
