Buying an IPhone 17.. but what model

I currently have the iPhone 16 base model, and I’m trying to decide if upgrading to the iPhone 17 Pro would actually be worth it for me or if I should just get the regular iPhone 17 instead.

I use my phone a lot for gaming, taking pictures and videos, watching YouTube and TikTok, Discord, Roblox, and everyday stuff. I also really care about battery life, smooth performance, display quality, and colors/design. Since I already have the regular iPhone 16, would the 17 base model feel too similar, or would the 17 Pro feel like a much bigger upgrade?

Also, which colors look the best this year for both models?

I would honestly hold off for now. If you’re fine with your 16, keep it for now. Wait till at least the iPhone 18 Pro.

If it weren’t for the carrier deal I’d say don’t bother and keep the 16, but a friend of mine had to return his 16 when he switched and bumped up to a 17 and he thinks it was the right decision, so that’s a path you can take

Whether or not to step up to the Pro is mostly up to you really

The 17 doesn’t have much of a camera upgrade outside the selfie camera, but the display is much better now that it is ProMotion
