Confused between iPhone 17 and 17 Pro.

Currently using a 13 pro, but the battery life is pretty bad and the back glass is cracked as well. Planning to upgrade in April but I am confused between the 17 and the 17 pro as the 17 this year is really nice. Is spending extra money for the pro worth it just for the telephoto lens and the vapor chamber. And how much realistically would I miss the telephoto lens.

I can tell you that I personally went from a 13 Pro to a 17 Pro, and regret nothing, but this’ll change per use-case

yes the 17 pro is worth it coz the 17 cant do some things that the 13 pro can do

for most people the benefits of the 17 far outweigh the downsides, so the 17 is still good for most people

Comparing to the 13 Pro, the base 17 has slightly worse camera zoom (mainly due to lack of telephoto), can't do ProRAW or ProRes, and there's no LiDAR. But other than those few downsides that won't affect most people, you're still gaining a lot just by going to the 17. Photos from the 17 can often turn out better than the 13 Pro due to the newer and more advanced technology and an overall better camera sensor.

If you don't care about the extra stuff in the Pros, then the 17 is perfect. That said, if you plan on using external accessories (such as a USB-C SSD), then a 17 Pro might be better.

But most 13 Pro users certainly won't regret the base 17. But those needing extra stuff not on the base should look into a 17 Pro

Yeah true, well if I get a new phone, I plan on using it atleast for 4 years, that’s why I don’t wanna regret getting the 17 instead of the pro and missing out on the features

But there’s a €270 price difference tho, so I’m thinking

Alright so I’m just gonna straight up list every relevant difference between the two, hopefully that helps narrow down what you need or want

• 4x and 8x Telephoto lenses
• A19 Pro
• Larger battery (30 vs 33 hrs according to Apple)
• Ceramic Shield back on the Pro only
• 120fps, ProRes and/or Log/2 video
• USB-C port is 3 vs 2
• Adaptive flash (means you can change the beam width)
• ProRAW
• Studio quality mic array
• LiDAR

Whether or not those listed features are worth €270 is up to you
