#To nano or not to nano?

Hey everyone, I'm in the market for a new MacBook Pro after my 2021 one became slow and clunky and l'd love some advice. I’ve settled on a grey macbook Pro 14” M5/32 GB/2TB SSD however what bugs me is the Nano vs Glossy dilemma. I’ve played around with both devices in an Apple Store and yes the lack of reflections is nice but the colors seemed extremely washed out, text seemed “paper-y”/“foggy” and I’ve had a tough time adjusting to it. Likewise the extra cleaning protocol kinda deters me since having to use this one specific cleaning cloth seems to imply durability issues (something that according to my research was an issue with “old” nanotexture screens. On the other hand having less reflections would certainly be nice and I wanted to ask has anyone here had a similar dilemma? Did you go glossy or nanotexture?

If it helps I mainly use my laptops indoors in places like lecture halls libraries courtrooms

my Air looks ok in any indoor lighting save for like under a library skylight

I don’t know if it also matters but I have astigmatism and my eyes don’t really deal well with the “dispersion” effect on the nanotexture

I don’t know if it’s a professional term but when a glossy display is hit by light the reflection is annoying but it’s in one point, whereas Nano has this thing where the screen “glows up”

That being said not getting nano feels like a massive FOMO thing

It’s really hard to help you come to a decision here, nano vs glossy is a super interpersonal subjective thing

I personally am ok with the glossy display on my air
