#Good deal for iPhone 13 Pro? ~$500 USD
49 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Quite expensive, the 13 pro was a really good phone but it’s getting really old
a new iPhone 17 base is $1300 aud for reference
If you have the budget I would go for at least a 15 pro
what's wrong with the 13, is it just too slow?
It’s outdated at this point: no ai, slower processor, not many years of software support, …
I don't care about AI
and I don't care that much about software support (should I?), I've been rocking an iPhone 8 for like 3 years now
The ai isn't that bad to miss out on but you'd want long software support if you're buying a new phone. The 13 pro is ok to have atm but you shouldn't buy it. Software support makes the device more secure and makes it so bugs and etc get fixed
You can get a 16e elsewhere for that price
13 series is too old
Never go anywhere below 15 Pro
the base iPhone 16e is $1000
should I just stick with my iPhone 8 then
stick with your iPhone 8 then and save more money for a 16e
trust me, you won't regret jumping to a 16e but you will regret a 13 Pro
what's so bad about losing software support
There are so many reasons you should pick a 16e over a 13 Pro:
- 13 Pro lacks Apple Intelligence. As time goes on, more and more apps and system features will start using Apple Intelligence without you realizing - making anything lower than a 15 Pro or 16e a bad buy.
- 13 Pro has worse battery life than the 16e, as it is an older phone and many 13 Pro's out there have degrading batteries
- The A15 chip in the 13 Pro is much older than the 16e's A18 chip. The A18 chip allows for longer software support and allows for Apple Intelligence.
- The 16e will certainly last longer than the 13 Pro. The 13 Pro is only good for another 3 or so years of updates and support while the 16e will continue to last for at least 6 years.
The 13 Pro is a good phone, but only if you already have one. Those looking to buy a new phone - especially coming from an iPhone 8 - should avoid the 13 Pro and get at least a 16e.
As a 13 pro owner, I recommend not getting one.
what don't you like about it
Too old, not the best value, lack of Apple Intelligence, and basically everything I mentioned.
Get a 16e at least even if it means sticking with your iPhone 8 for another year
Lack of USB-C as well
Trust me you won’t regret getting a 16e, but you will regret a 13 Pro
That too. Forgot those archaic relics before the 15 series had lightning
The oldest I can recommend is a 15 Pro
The base iPhone 15 is actually even worse than the already bad value 13 Pro
Also buying 4 year old used iPhone is always a gamble as you’ll probably get one with like 83% battery health or something
So yeah just get a 16e
The iPhone 13 Pro is literally gonna turn 5 years old later this year so it’s starting to get quite old
I can get a base second hand 15 pro for $1000, same as a 16e
I’d definitely consider either the 15 Pro or 16e, mostly comes down to what you want in a phone. Since you have an 8, the 16e would still be a massive leap
Yo should compare the specs and decode what you value more
If you want good cameras especially a telescope then go with the 15 pro
Won't recommend buying a 13 pro in 2026, I think the least you should consider is a 14 pro (Only if Intergrated AI features and TYPE-C don't matter to you) Or else, 15 pro would be the least to buy
14 Pro is a terrible buy
get a 15 Pro at minimum
or a 16e
Even a 13 Pro is surprisingly a better buy than a 14 Pro... that's how awful the 14 Pro is.
But I still would avoid both of those. Get 15 Pro minimum
14 pro was a really bad release
Oh yeah. Ignoring the terrible software bugs at launch, the 14 Pro overall is actually kinda worse than the 13 Pro because of the 14 Pro having the inefficient as hell A16 chip
but in 2026, get a 15 Pro or 16e at minimum
and being more expensive since it's newer
I think I'll get a 15 pro in the US
