Apple TV Remote Double Clicking Going Right

My Apple TV remote is about 2 years old but realistically was 1.5 years in the box because I was using a NVIDIA Shield.

Now that I’ve been using my Apple TV, it was amazing the first 4 months but just this month when scrolling right with a click, it is double clicking on almost every press.

I have tried resetting my Apple TV, searching the web, and even tried cleaning the remote and I can’t figure out a way to fix it.

So it’s been working perfectly fine. Even though it was 2 years old, i had it in the box majority of the time because i was using an NVIDIA Shield.

I moved to Appletv Finally this year and it’s been nice but randomly this month it starts double clicking when I scroll right.

I haven’t dropped it or it wasn’t a physical damage issue.

Mainly wondering if it’s something fixed with a restart, is it a mass issue, or do I need to buy a new one or take it to Apple.

I tried googling it and each Reddit/ person says something different so idk. Maybe you guys have seen this before or know something

I meant to send that yesterday, I always forget that there is a way to restart their remotes.

Awesome. I tried it as well as a good old fashion bang on table and it is working normal now

But it is starting to do it again. Seems like it was a short one day fix but as of now it’s double clicking again.

I might just have to reach out to apple for a replacement remote atp
