#Iphone 13 Pro Max keeps turning off at random times

I'm currently trying to update it to IOS 18.5 after noticing today that my phone suddenly turned off randomly despite having 20% power. I turned it back on with some difficulty as it kept showing the white apple before the screen turning black, me retrying again, it showing the white apple again, and this repeating for about 3 times before I finally turned on my phone.

Everything SEEMED to work okay, but every 3 mins or so, it will keep shutting itself off, turning on the white apple, turning off it and repeating for serveral times before stopping abruptly, and I need to hold the volume and off button again to make it turn on.

its battery health is at 87% And it will turn off before the update even finishes preparing.

sadly, i dont have another phone/camera to record the thing on, i'm writing this on a pc monitor

i'm gonna try backing up my icloud first

You probably need to restore

If you can but you probably can’t because tmrw is a Monday I would wait for tomorrow and install iOS 18.6

so do i try to restore my phone?

Restoring using a computer will also update it to 18.5 as well since it’s reinstalling iOS.

If you want to restore your phone using the computer you will probably need to put the phone into recovery or DFU mode

update: The apple store charged me $600 for the phone fix (I paid $800 to buy the phone in the first place, and it was an apple 13 pro max) while the store i bought it at charged me $80 for the fix, (and it worked)

but the phone did have to restore which sucks but phone works and is all good now!
