Are you booted into Big Sur?
Actually, shouldn’t matter
So, you’re gonna wanna create (if you don’t already have one) a Linux live boot and boot into that
Then use gparted to edit stuff, and apply it
Oh what. Mk. So Thats how I’ll delete that partition and it will transfer the storage over to my main?
Yeah, in GParted:
- Remove Mojave partition
- Resize Big Sur partition to 1TB
- Apply changes
Backup everything before you do, because it’s Linux working on a macOS partition it can cause data loss
How do I install Linux live boot?
Are you on an M-series Mac, Intel Mac, or hackintosh?
First option is x64, second and third are ARM
It changes things a lot
Alr, great 👍
Go to https://ubuntu.com
Ubuntu is the modern, open source operating system on Linux for the enterprise server, desktop, cloud, and IoT.
Download x64 LTS ISO image
And write it to a USB drive (you’ll have to google how to do that)
uhhh
@lavish marten
sorry for pinging
its out of support
it wont let me download it
nvm
CD images for Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS (Jammy Jellyfish)
is this realese ok to use?
im just gonna download and make a install on windows
Why not 24.04?
That’s the latest
https://ubuntu.com/download/desktop/thank-you?version=24.04.2&architecture=amd64<s=true
x64 Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS
Ubuntu is an open source software operating system that runs from the desktop, to the cloud, to all your internet connected things.
Direct download link
Which one is that?
If you’re talking abt the “Big Sur” partition, no it won’t delete it, but it warns you that sometimes it can mess up the bootloader
So def back up important stuff on it, I’ve never had issues resizing Linux partitions but idk abt macOS
One thing you could try that I just thought of is using macos recovery
It’s booting
What do I do when it boots?
It’s in the Home Screen
Where do I go?
Ok I deleted all data on the partition
So Im booting back into Mac OS
Im going to try to add it there
@lavish marten
In Ubuntu, I deleted the other space I wanted of resize
And now it’s not showing up in Mac OS
What do I do
Im rebooting back into Ubuntu
Gimme like 40m, sorry
I fixed it no worries
But im not done
Once you get back, I’ll have you guide me through how to resize it
Ok I’m back
Mk
So I have the partition back
So Im gonna boot back into Ubuntu
I’ll text you when I fully booted back in
Im booted in, what do I do now?
Im now in gparted
Wdid
Can somebody help, Im very confused ]:
@lavish marten sorry for pinging , I just really need help and idk what to do.
@polar mauve So what are you attempting to accomplish?
I want this big partition, to transfer it storage over to my main one
Which is dev/sda3
But in macOS, it won’t transfer over and it won’t let me delete it
Are you attempting to migrate the data over?
Oh, then you should just be able to delete the partition.
.Delete the partion to gain free space, then boot to MacOS to expand it's partition
Check your DMs to continue with your .fmbot account deletion.
breh
That's weird.
I did set my main partition size as a maximum of 350. But I’ve done that before and it let me delete a partition and have it go into another
And you can't resize the partition in MacOS?
No, if it won’t let me delete it in Mac OS

Then you need an Apple Drive Driver and then try to do it in Linux.
You install it in Linux
Mk
Im-
Im just gonna have to wipe my drive and reinstall
ACTAULLY
Im marking this as done
Ik what I’m doing
