Alright, so. I’ve had my iPhone 14 pro since 12 august 2023. I started having some issues with it recently: My back camera stopped working completely. Like, if I go on the camera app, screen remains black, then crashes after a bit, on top of that, the flashlight doesn’t work either. After a while, and a few restarts, the front camera and face ID stop working too. Though, it came back after I restarted it again. This isn’t the first time, though. I’ve experienced this two weeks ago, same thing. Back camera stops working, flashlight too, I restart a few times, then the front one and face ID goes away too, then comes back after a few restarts etc. Though, that time, I left it powered off for a while and it eventually fixed itself. This time, however, I restarted more times, I also used apple self diagnostic and it couldn’t identify the wide camera, also said it’s probably not genuine (I never changed anything on this phone, also took the image quality test (the one where you gotta take a photo then circle any glitches in the photo, when it got to the ultra wide camera, it worked, though, when I tried taking a photo, it said there was an error getting the image, even tho it was displaying it. Right now the front camera n face ID both work, the rear one is still bust tho. What do I do?

Uh, this seems like a potential hardware issue
Best bet is to take it to an apple store sadly
Damn it
I’ll shut it off for a while again, I want to see if it’ll get fixed eventually
Not necessarily recently, but a while ago, yeah
Hmm, ok
I doubt it can be from that fall since it was fine for a while since
Does it work in other apps? Like Snapchat, Instagram, heck even YouTube can record the camera I guess
If not, this is def a hardware issue, since it also malfunctions in the Hardware Diagnostics
Hmm
This is a very odd issue
I've seen users have camera issues, but it typically works in other apps when they test it
I think Apple store is the best option here
I see
Imma shut it off for a while completely
It fixed it last time
If not, then yeah
Ok
How?
Only way I know would be to factory reset it
Go into Settings > General > Reset this iPhone
Yeah it factory resets it
I have one more method, it requires a computer and a cable to connect the iPhone to said computer tho
And it requires time
But it keeps all your data and 95% of your settings
Itunes?
I see
I’ll do it tomorrow
Probably
Yeah it happened again
😭
I’ll try this one, but I’ll need a small tutorial
Though I think it’s done for
Flashlight controls were all messed up, it skipped brightnesses, then when I went on camera, it worked for a bit then froze, then crashed and it’s cooked again
At that point, try a factory reset
I honestly can’t tell if it’s a hardware or software issue
Factory resetted it and it's alright so far
Ok 👍 hopefully it stays that way
I spoke too soon...
Imma not restore anything atp
Resetting again
if it happens again then it's busted
If you reset once and it’s still happening, … it’s Apple Store time
What I observed is that the camera lags if you know what I mean
Is that a sign?
Like
Instead of 60fps its running 30 or even 20 sometimes
Hmm, idk
If I choose to not restore anything, can I restore just my photos, passwords and other data?
Afterwards
Can't set up face ID now
it's busted
imma bring it in tomorrow and that's all
Thank you for your help man
👍
Your passwords should be synced in iCloud, maybe
Photos can be backed up to iCloud
Other data depends
I have a full backup done, no worries
plus all I need is my photos and passwords, the rest is not that important as it’s most likely stored on the respective apps
Some apps use iCloud Files to store data (which doesn’t get synced with iCloud if your storage is full), and some apps use local data
So, apps that don’t use an account could have data loss from a reset, just so you know
My iCloud still has space, so everything is good I believe
Ty tho
Sent it in
I'll use my 7 plus for the time being
Ok 👍
