Hi, in the past i used a macbook air m2, but a few days ago i bought a new macbook pro m4. On the macbook air i changed the display's color profile to generic rgb in the settings, but it seems like the new macbook pro doesnt have color profile in the settings menu, which is also stated in the apple site. I tried installing the rgb profile in apple's color syn utility program, but i dont know how to set up a generic rgb profile in this program, can anyone help me?

Hi there well first go to Applications then utilities, open ColorSync utility, click on the devices tab, choose display, then select your MacBook Pro Display, u should see like a section that says “Current profile” click that choose other and then look for the profiles u downloaded, then apply it
I got this
But when i go to settings i still dont see the srgb i want
Like the colors didnt change at all
try restarting your mac
I tried restarting it but it the colors are still not the same as i want it to be
The color sync utility program shows this but the preset option in settings doesnt show generic rgb, is that normal?
No it’s not somethings wrong 🤔🤔🤔
This grsb2014.icc i downloaded it online
Whhen i go to profiles it does show srgb iec61996 (the one my macbook air has), but i dont know how to move that to profile
Because whenever i open the profile folder in my system i dont see this icc file
Wait could you come again?
Ok your MacBook Air it shows and works?
But on your MacBook Pro it shows? But doesn’t work? Or wdym
So on my old macbook air when i go to settings > display, it shows a menu where i can choose the color profile
But my macbook pro doesnt, which apple also stated on their official site
So i went to the color sync utility program built in this macbook and whenever i click on the tab 'profile' it shows this sRGB IEC1966 option, but whenever i go to to the 'display' tab i dont see this srgb iec1966
So thats why i downloaded the sgrb.icc file manually online, and now this srgb.icc is set as default but it seems like the colors are still not as saturated as i would like it to be, seems like its still the same as before
Might be the Mac doesn’t really support it
The display is calibrated to reproduce accurate color and doesn’t need to be changed.
The profiles are supported only for external monitors.
Ahh that explains it
