What macbook should I get with 1500 Euro budget? My requirements are 16gb ram and 14-15 inch display. Going to use for web development & design, programming in general and college. What I'm currently considering is the Macbook Pro M1 14 16GB, but not sure if it's the best I can get with the money. I'm in Europe and willing to import from the US which would have around 350 Euro for customs

Hello. I own a Macbook Air M1, and it really work fine for day to day use. Meaning, project leading, creation of document with Pages, knowledge base management with Obsidian and Craft. I also use Webex, Zoom, and Teams, all together, and the machine shines with "only" 8gb of memory. I don't know if the machine you talk about is the best for the price. But it will handle the workload you need.

limber bobcat

My use case is work/college laptop for software development, mostly web development/design. Usually running a lot of tabs on chrome and a lot of applications at the same time. Coming from a 14 inch E14 Thinkpad with 250 nits, 8GB RAM and 240GB SSD. I intend on keeping this laptop for the next 5-7 years. Which is the better option?

€1630 - 1 Year Warranty - From overseas - MacBook Air 2024 M3 15.3” 8-Core CPU | 10-Core GPU 16GB RAM 512GB SSD
or
€2150 - 2 Years Warranty - Locally - MacBook Pro 2024 M3 Pro 14.2” 11-Core CPU | 14-Core GPU 18GB RAM 512GB SSD

I have the m3 pro macbook pro, so speaking from firsthand experience, it runs like butter and its battery can last probably 2-3 days with light usage

#

it can game (whatever games are compatible) if you're looking for something to do in your freetime

#

and the XDR screen is so amazing

#

so if you can stretch your budget, then totally go for the m3 pro, if not the air M3 is a perfectly capable machine and the battery might even be better than the m3 pro (thats what claimed by apple)

#

However, i am not too sure about euros and any import taxes but the M3 pro MBP is actually $2000 starting and if i directly do a "usd to eur" conversion it should be 1800 euros but im guessing there is import taxes.
