#Maximum “wait” time on automation shortcuts

Anyone has any experience with the maximum wait time on automations? In this example I’m trying to set an automation (it’s linked to this shortcut) so that every morning when I unplug my iPhone it waits for 10 minutes (600 seconds) and then turns off the bedroom light. I’m planning on making multiple automations using the wait command but it always fails. I’ve even tried linking 6 shortcuts together in order to minimise the wait time on each of them to just 100 seconds, but even that showed the same error.

If anyone’s using an alternative method to run the same command that’d be greatly appreciated!

Is it because the bedroom light isn’t responding?

This can be because of many reasons, some I can think of are:

  • You left your house, your lights are connected to the wifi but not to the internet, unless you have a HomePod. (in my experience)
#
  • Your light just isn’t responding, or it’s switched off from power.
#
  • Since the automation is depending on a shortcut, the shortcut is taking too long and is timing out the automation.
