I’m sorry but I can’t determine what it is from that. Do you know if it’s M1, M2, or M3? If you don’t know that, do you know when you got it?

If you click on the Apple logo in the top left of your Mac, then click about this Mac it will tell you the exact model. What does it say?

So that’s not a M1 then. That’s an 2017 Intel MacBook Pro.

#

Also, you may want to remove that serial number

But can it still update or not?

zenith elm

It can’t update to macOS Sonoma

It will get security updates though

An alternative people like to use this open core legacy

If so, do you get a specific error message when it fails?

If your iCloud is enrolled in the beta program then you’ll see beta versions

#

As an option

#

Might wanna remove your iCloud

#

Not sure why you see Sonoma

#

As your Mac can’t run it

If you don’t want to see those options, you can remove yourself from the beta program

# paper fiber Bcs i wanted to install xcode but it didn’t work:(

I believe you can install the compatible version of it with your Mac, but unfortunately, you need an up to date Mac, log in with your Apple ID, then download Xcode on that. Once you do that, you can go back to your older Mac, download Xcode, and when you press the download button it will give you a message similar to “Your Mac isn’t compatible with the latest version of Xcode. Download the latest version available with your Mac?” Press ok or whatever and you will have the latest compatible version. If needed, you could just make an account on a friends or family members Mac, sign in with your Apple ID, follow the steps above, and then when you’re done you can just delete Xcode on the friends or family’s computer and remove your account.

The older version of Xcode could be fun for learning or just coding for fun, but you will not be able to code for any of the latest OS’ and devices. That ultimately ends the ability to put your app on the App Store as Apple requires that it runs on the latest OS

You would be locked to whatever version you download
