Thanks but we tried and didn’t work so we contacted apple them self
Ah well hopefully they can get an resolution for you!
They did
Great to hear!
Thanks for helping
No problem!
@paper fiber is it an intel or M-series?
This is the one
I’m sorry but I can’t determine what it is from that. Do you know if it’s M1, M2, or M3? If you don’t know that, do you know when you got it?
Based on the image, it looks like the 16 Intel MacBook Pro, but I could be wrong.
If you click on the Apple logo in the top left of your Mac, then click about this Mac it will tell you the exact model. What does it say?
M1
Well am now outside i will show a pic when am home
Alright, all good
So that’s not a M1 then. That’s an 2017 Intel MacBook Pro.
Also, you may want to remove that serial number
I saw my buddy said m1 but he was wrong
Yep, he’s wrong.
Bcs i wanted to install xcode but it didn’t work:(
Ah they must have upped the requirements.
Unfortunately, that you won’t be able to install
An alternative people like to use this open core legacy
Ye u need mac os 14
Okay
Thats alr i tried and called apple them self and they tried to help me but ye
So they didn’t get a resolution?
If so, do you get a specific error message when it fails?
No they daid xcode only works woth the newer models
Gotcha
It did but now we factory reset everything and it runs again
Cool
Well, if this is resolved, you can mark this post as resolved
Last question is it normal i have 2 versions
If your iCloud is enrolled in the beta program then you’ll see beta versions
As an option
Might wanna remove your iCloud
Not sure why you see Sonoma
As your Mac can’t run it
Ye same haha
Ye i know that what i tho haha
If you don’t want to see those options, you can remove yourself from the beta program
How?
Alr thanks for the help
No problem!
So how do i close this case ahha am new here
Oh, there should be an option to add a tag to a post, to be honest not completely sure as I haven’t made a post here myself.
Yes there is thanks for the help:)
Cool! Have a great day!
You too
Thank you
I believe you can install the compatible version of it with your Mac, but unfortunately, you need an up to date Mac, log in with your Apple ID, then download Xcode on that. Once you do that, you can go back to your older Mac, download Xcode, and when you press the download button it will give you a message similar to “Your Mac isn’t compatible with the latest version of Xcode. Download the latest version available with your Mac?” Press ok or whatever and you will have the latest compatible version. If needed, you could just make an account on a friends or family members Mac, sign in with your Apple ID, follow the steps above, and then when you’re done you can just delete Xcode on the friends or family’s computer and remove your account.
The older version of Xcode could be fun for learning or just coding for fun, but you will not be able to code for any of the latest OS’ and devices. That ultimately ends the ability to put your app on the App Store as Apple requires that it runs on the latest OS
well it cant update now
Only betas
?
You would be locked to whatever version you download
You would not have any of the newer updates
You can do betas, but you had it set to off so you aren’t on one
True i did turn it off bcs didn’t know if it was good or bad
