Hello @finite iron ! You should definitely book a Genius Bar appointment, and get this replaced. They will probably do it for a lower cost, since it looks like a manufacturing issue. They should, it will cost a bit, but i think you should try replacing it before buying a new one!

Apple will charge you the MacBook Air display replacement cost, which is about 450 US roughly. I wouldn't bother going through with it because that's a lot to pay for something that's largely cosmetic. With that said, replacing it yourself is also not always the best idea because underneath that bezel there are a lot of sensitive electronics that control the display itself and during the removal process you accidentally fuck one of those things, then you're gonna have to pay the 450 US cost or potentially Apple may deny service because you're attempting to do "unauthorized modification"
