My AirPods will show on FindMy but it’s not connected to FindMy Network. So I cannot get access to finding the exact location of one. I called Support and they could not figure it out. I enabled everything but the option Doesent even show when I go to the AirPod settings.
I have the early model version of the AirPods ( A2618 ) but only got them this Christmas. I don’t understand why this will not show. I checked the Serial Number and it matches up and Apple says that it’s good. They were bought from Best Buy so not a random online store. The only thing that I find weird is that the Serial Number showing on my phone is different than the one written on the box. Both are genuine serial numbers but the apple care warranty ends at different dates. The one on my phone is June 10 2025 and the one on the box is Febuary 16 2025. I don’t have the receipt anymore so it can’t be returned but my Apple Supporr Consultant said to go to an Apple affiliate store. The nearest one is 2 hours away so I wanna see if I can do anything before having to go to a store and get a replacement.

The fact that the serial number is different than on the box is a red flag to me
I wonder if it was tampered with
They wouldn’t replace them for you?
As Jared said, the different serial numbers are a red flag. Where did you buy the AirPods?
They mentioned Best Buy
Usually there isn’t issues with Beat Buy 🤷♂️
Oh I didn’t read all the way through
Are they refurbished from Best Buy? Chance that they got mixed up if they were refurbished
That’s possible.
@desert anvil @fathom musk I got it as a gift for Christmas and it was sealed and everything and has the manual and everything. there’s nothing fake on the box either. No receipt and no name put online so it can’t be returned either
The 2 serial numbers are different and one is set to March somehow tho?
Would be a chance someone pulled a refund scam and I was sent this one
I’d delete these and cover their serial numbers. The mods prefer images to not reveal these.
My fault
No worries, just thought I’d tell you in advance
Hmm.
Detecting fakes is harder now a days
Yeah idk how I would
It’s below the purchase date.
One weird thing that is does tho is only when the case is dead and I turn on my AirPods it does a “power on” like Siri voice
Only when the case is dead
Other than that it’s fine
rip
Best Buy scammed me
That’s unfortunate
Put the serial numbers in this https://checkcoverage.apple.com/
Check your Apple warranty status. Enter a serial number to review your eligibility for support and extended coverage.
Some fakes can bypass this
Unfortunately
Yeah, it’s crazy.
It says it’s valid
@fathom musk
It’s annoying
Cause idk if it’s fake or not or what to do now
