You could even get a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro and plug that into the external display. Then, you can use the computer anywhere

#

Because some people dont realize, but remember that just because the Mac Mini starts at $599, you still need to supply yourself a monitor, mouse/trackpad, keyboard, and any other accesories

#

Plus if you do want the mac mini, you should just wait till WWDC or the September event this year where they will most likely unveil the M3 Mini

Ok. Then it comes down to this: Do you want to use the computer just at a desk or locked to one area, or would you rather use a computer where you can use where your monitor is and anywhere else

i have to have a set up with a drawing tablet some speakers 2 monitors and just everything in one place as it is the type of set up i am most comfortable with

Ok. I would recommend the Mac Mini. Let check the specifications so I can tell you what I recommend in terms of specifications

#

Just curious, what is your budget, if you have one?

not a very restrictive budget just 2500 canadian dollars maximum

Ok. Do you think 256GB SSD would be enough? If you plan on storing a lot of photos locally (not in icloud) that may take up a lot of storage, but I would recommend just getting an external SSD which would be a lot cheaper and have more storage.

#

To upgrade to 512GB its $200 USD which is pretty expensive

#

For unified memory, 8GB should be enough unless you plan on heavy multi-tasking and needing to export a lot of photos and videos at once

i think i could do a 16gb/256 gb spec one as i own a direct attached storage unit with 16tb of space so i think i might do that

Ok. I would agree on that, but make sure you actually need the 16gb of unified memory. I have the M3 Air base model (so just the 8gb unified memory) and it works very very well for my coding and multi-tasking

#

But for photos and videos the 16gb may be useful
