#Camera lens screen protector for iPhone 15?

My phone is used for most of the day to make calls and perform basic tasks. The one problem is that the camera lenses on my new iPhone 15 are bigger than the single camera on my SE 2nd gen. I'm pretty careful with my phone but because I work in construction there's always a good chance it could get a little beat up and scratched (like most professions). Should I consider a camera lens screen protector to protect my lenses? Thanks!

@gritty thistle You may have a good answer here.

I’m just gonna copy paste something I’ve said multiple times lol

“They’ve never been helpful in my case, quite the opposite actually
The lens in the glass is literally made of sapphire, it does not need protection. If the much weaker protector gets banged up the picture quality could worsen significantly.
If for example a crack forms over a lens, it can become essentially useless until you take the protector off.”

I hate lens protectors with a burning passion because they are actively negative to camera performance and quality, and the lenses are made of a material plenty strong enough anyway.

It's definitely not a great idea, since the camera lenses are already durable enough to take on any wear or tear that you throw at it. That being said, the protector may end up comprimising it's durability, as well as adding a bit of bulk for essentially a paper weight attacked to the camera lenses. If you want better protection for your camera lenses, you may want to look into a case that physically covers the camera module, rather than getting lens protectors.

If you find yourself not using your cameras much I’d much more recommend something removable, like a plastic slide cover or something of the sort.

It doesn't have to be as bulky or flashy, but something like this should be more than enough.

I personally don't use camera protector for two reasons. 1. They affect camera quaility. 2. They will always break first as they stick up above the camera ridges cases already provide.

Family members have had them and they've broken time and time again.
