does anyoje know how to fix this problem, i got an apple ipad/phone and they wont let me update/download free apps without a payment method , and i dont have a credit/or debit card ti be able to insert one

They need a payment method to verify you as a human and to process the $0 charge

Sometimes If you have a really old account that has been in use since the @mac.com email address days, you don’t need a payment method because your account is in high standing with Apple. This is not the case here

im pretty sure you dont need any payment method to download/update free apps, i used my iphone for years without a payment method attached

Use an old visa gift card and make that as ur payment method if the issue can’t be resolved

If so, it’s not actually looking for payment, it may look like it, but I promise you that it isn’t as long as the app is indeed free.
