I’m getting a new HomePod 2nd Generation this week or next week and was wondering if someone could help with information on what type of wood the device stains.

The type of wood I’ve got is in the picture linked to this message.

If it could stain the wood I’ve got, what can I put underneath it so it doesn’t leave a ring stain?

*edit: I used to have HomePod Minis on it and there are no stains

I'm going to be honest... would just place something under it regardless. I saw a report that the 2nd gen HomePod improved the staining but it was still visible.
