This is due to the incorrect resolution and scaling being automatically set for that monitor. You could change that in Display settings on your Mac.
I'm using the correct resolution for my monitor.
What monitor do you have connected and what are the settings? Can you send some screenshots?
You have 1080p res. set, click on "Show all resolutions" and choose 2560 × 1440
if it's there
yeah that monitor supports 144hz too, not just 120hz
HDMI only supports 120hz
not sure what version it is, but this one supports only 120hz
everything is too small
It has 144hz too tho
and the text still seems weird
once i select 144hz, the screen goes black and nothing happens, it will stay like that
interesting, i found this post on reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/MacOS/comments/o5i1va/blurry_text_on_your_external_monitor_with_your/?rdt=41651&onetap_auto=true&one_tap=true
I had the same problem on my UltraWide but the scaling was the culprit, so I fixed it with changing that. Hopefully someone else has the answer to this one 🥶
you could just change the text size
im pretty sure there is also a scaling setting somewhere as well
.
maybe its a defective unit??
what's defective?
the display
nope
then idk what to tell you
https://github.com/usr-sse2/RDM how can i install this?
okay now how can i now do this, "activate HiDPI and Retina in the settings."?
I'd read their tutorial or a Readme file as I have no idea how to set it up, never used it.
someone in reddit said to do this
displayplacer "id:<DISPLAY_ID> mode:<MODE_NUMBER>"
what should i do
