Hi everyone, I’m having a problem where software updates is draining my mobile data. I did a reset of usage statistics 9 days ago and it shows me over 350MB. Usually I use around 200MB per day and now it’s around 400MB, which is way too much, especially when I have 9GB of full speed connectivity. I turned automatic updates off, turned off beta updates today to see if it drains mobile data but if anyone knows a solution I’d be thankful.

What is more, I even get 200MB of mobile data usage even when on WiFi for a whole day
Have you turned automatic software updates and background data usage for individual apps off?
You should probably restrict data usage for apps running in the background and update apps via WiFi only instead
You might just as well monitor the situation and find the culprit that’s wasting a lot of MBs…and maybe schedule updates
background app refresh is off for every app, automatic software updates is also off
maybe it was caused by developer beta updates on as I use 17.1 beta. I turned it off to see if it helps but I had this issue before installing beta
There must be some intense activity running in the background…make sure your device doesn’t automatically switch between WiFi and mobile data as it usually does depending on network strength
WiFi assist is turned off so my iphone shouldn’t switch to mobile data
Is the App Switcher generally empty after each use of an app?
it’s really weird because I see 200MB of data usage in random hours
no
that’s how it looks in system services
