Ever since I got my ipad air, it starts to heat up on the left side (opposite to where the magnetic pencil charger is). It heats up quite a bit even if I'm using little to one app open. ut once I shut it off the temperature goes back to normal. Is there a way of gettin this fixed or is it supposed to heat up?

Unless the ipad is actively complaining about being too hot, then its not officially overheating, meaning that nothing will pop up during tests since its performing as expected. Youre welcome to go to the appointment but it wont really accomplish much given the above. Our tests only log events where it actively complained about being too hot for long periods of time, which is accomplanied by a screen that takes up the entire device saying it needs to cool down. Device can get warm and it is completely normal, especially considering a lot of modern day tasks are very far from lightweight (social media, video/streaming, youtube, web-based services like discord and such, etc)

keep in mind that peoples skin is sensitive to heat and cold differently too

#

As a rough average around 45c is when peoples skins heat receptors start to transition from warm to uncomfortable, and this will vary from person to person too

#

while 45c for most parts inside an ipad is basically nothing

#

its good at regulating itself, and if it is having problems it will actively complaon. Until then, thermal stuff is just combo of usage and your skins own sensitivity
