Hey guys. After I’ve updated to public beta 4 a few days ago, I got these notifications. I didn’t though much to it.. but now that i randomly looked into the messages settings, it keeps saying “waiting for activation” and there’s a loading animation next to my phone number. What does this means? How can I resolve it? I’m still getting messages and everything works fine, but I really don’t understand this!

Yes thank you, I’ve just seen this too. Should I mess with it as it says and follow the steps to turn off iMessage and then back on?
Did anyone try this before?

I haven't had to do this myself, but it's rare Apple recommends an answer on the Community site so it should be solid advice.

No, I don’t know what could’ve changed, it was good before the update

I'm not sure I'm allowed to comment here but I had a situation like this with someone and resetting network settings fixed it.

Yes I looked up on YouTube and saw that option
But I will have to set up my watch, AirPods and AirTags again? Since they said it reset all Bluetooth connections and wifi and everything

In my experience it does not remove things like that. I've seen it change the iPhone name, mess up VPN settings, as well as custom configurations and things like that

Yeah😅even when I used the developer beta, things like this didn’t happened. But I know the risks, it’s on me

I have a colleague who also put the iOS 17 beta on his phone and it very much messed up all his cellular settings

Ah yeah I’ve heard that too!
Success! I tried removing my number from my account, turned off iMessage and FaceTime. Restart my phone and turned them back on, now it’s all good and working again!
