It’s possible that your iPhone is set up to receive notifications for every email you receive in Gmail. You can turn off notifications for Gmail by going to your iPhone’s Settings app and then selecting “Notifications” from the Settings menu. In the Settings menu, select “Notifications.” Under the Notification Style menu, scroll and select “Gmail.” To turn off notifications for Gmail, tap the slider icon so it turns gray12.
