Hello everyone I bought this mac mini M2 but I have a big doubt. I changed the previous admin name but forgot to change that of the respective folder in the /Users section. Having said that, I restarted the computer and strangely it showed me a screen asking me for language/apple ID etc. After setting it up again, I went to the /Users section and found these three folders: the first is mine and is called Andrea Monastero. The second one is called ''shared'' and there is nothing inside. The third is that of my old administrator whose name I changed. My doubt is this: since I haven't changed the name in the folder (but changed it where it asks for ''start folder) maybe he created a new one (Andrea Monastero). But I'm not sure. So can I delete the roberto folder? Or do I delete the Andrea Monastero folder and rename the roberto folder? What is the ''shared'' folder for?

The shared folder is put there by default when you add multiple users on macOS. Its to allow file sharing between all users.

It sounds like to me that what happened is that the mac was never properly erased for the old user. So the Andrea Monastero user was the old admin user and when they were downgraded to a standard user it kicked up startup assistant on the reboot which forced you to create the other user account. I'd go into settings - users and groups and delete the Andrea Monastero user completely, including the data. If you've already done that step then recreate a user account with the same exact user name as the one you're trying to remove. Then delete through settings again but choose "delete the home folder"

Hi again, this happened to me

The computer tells me that roberto's account already exists when it doesn't exist, only his folder remains

so I just delete the roberto user folder? Because it is impossible to create a user with his exact name. (the old account was roberto not andrea monastery)

yeah you can go ahead and delete it the regular way. Its perfectly safe to do
