#My macbook air battery completely drains overnight while on sleep mode
27 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
i don’t think that’s normal, i’ve left discord, chrome, activity monitor and photos open on my intel macbook pro and closed it for a day and it only drains like 10-15% overnight
2018 macbook pro 80% health
heck i would forget it for a week and it would only drain 30-40%
bear in mind it was a new user account, you could try it on a new user
could help fix it
could just only be software issue (i’d advise resetting it via internet recovery if you do)or hardware
thank you, i will try the above solutions
this is how bad it is rn for reference
oh wow yeah that looks abnormal, mine would only drop a bit on that graph overnight (can’t show as i had it plugged in all day)
yeah mine drops about 1-5% overnight
yeah that definitely off, i've just left my mac off on sleep over night
i left it at 100%
Wow! I made a new user and will be testing it tonight
Thank u
which macbook air is it? and what batteryhealth does it have?
no probs!
its a macbook air M1
battery health is 100%
but i changed the user and it got fixed!
thx again @gusty pike
it only lost 4% in 12 hours 👍
now i gotta figure out how to move all my stuff to the other user ugh
thats good! check if you have any start up apps on your main user first before moving, that may help
then restart if you do have any to make sure that they dont stay
if not then it may just be a corrupted user
oopsie ive already done everything and deleted the user lol
but i dont use anything other than safari, other native apps, and a couple social media apps so i think the problem was with the user
oh loll, yeah corrupted users are rare and happen 😅, hopefully it doesn’t do the same thing now
@shell plume this should help https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/mac-help/mh35848/13.0/mac/13.0
To save energy, put your Mac to sleep, dim the display, turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, disconnect devices and close apps, and more.
