#Ring of Luck/Fortune is still problematic after loadouts

This item seems fundamentally flawed because it's massively impactful at the instant an armory item spawns, but useless anytime else, so players are pushed to constantly move it in and out. A major use of loadouts is just to accomodate this, yet we're still seeing conflicts coming up because of it (and the mechanics behind chest spawns are so unclear that no one seems certain how you need to set it up anyway).

I'd suggest that the ring no longer be an equippable armory item, but instead becomes a permanent crafted item so it's always passively active. This isn't the buff that it may seem like, as you can already change rings with loadouts or manual swapping to cover most scenarios, and there's rarely a hard benefit to having two rings active. I think the biggest effect would be getting Fortune's bonus to chest hunt's armory chest chance while using the Will ring for bonus souls.

they're related but the first is an attempt to mitigate the problem while this better identifies the issue with a better solution

#

if Plab is unwilling to implement this one then the first change would be better than nothing

I wouldn't count on it -- you can have your cake or eat it, but not both.
Either you get the slightly faster arrows/ slightly more souls or better armory drops.

that was true for everything before loadouts, but now ideal item sets are automatically equipped. This is the only item that doesn't fit and still needs manual juggling

"needs"
Is this proven?

#

that's kinda the issue, we're working with assumptions here

if you want to get use from both, yes. It's how everything else is working now, and in most situations fortune already does work like this. But there's still places it's not working because it's uniquely weird as an item

how do you know?
Whether or not the loadout is changed before the chest is spawned, I mean.

didn't get what you meant, I'd love an answer too but in either case I'd want the ring passive. If you need it saved to the world after a boss/ch you get the swap issues. If you instead only needed it saved to the actual minigame regardless of where the chest appears, that'd be fine swap-wise and would be functional as-is, but it'd also be disappointing because the other rings are suited for those games and overshadowed
