Buffs disappearing when app minimized or closed

Whenever the app is minimized or closed (and the former is easily done by accident), bonuses disappear regardless of time left rather than elapse as usual. Can this be fixed?

P. S. It also happens when a purchase prompt happens (for me it happened by accidentally hitting the affirmative button for the ad skip offer popup).

the only way buffs are paused is when you are in a mini game or village

I went to the village once with few buffs and i wathced an add for daily bonus and after the add i lost all of them
