Tactical armor plate doesn't work with The Mysterious Ring quest

With the tactical armor plate equipped, I hit a box and got dual randomness, both boxes were coins. Both boxes only counted as +1 toward the quest progress for "The Mysterious Ring" quest instead of +6.

"Hit boxes"
They are similar but different
