I have been trying to play since the last update and I can't, I closed my account to see if that would resolve it. When I ask for an email to recover my password, it tells me that the connection has expired.

Yes, and I also play the idle champion of the forgotten kingdoms and it doesn't give me a connection error (I didn't answer before because of a blackout where I live)
