I just now realized that the cursed willow tree enemies aren't dark type, which I thought was strange since the progression to obtain them is very similar to corrupted demons, which ARE dark type.

Cursed willow trees and corrupted demons are both the third evolution of their enemy type, both unlocked in the same quest bundle, and both have similarly high kill requirements to complete their unlock quests. The cursed willows even have a color scheme that makes them look like the other dark type enemy evolutions.

With their current soul output and no dark buff, it's basically not worth the effort required to unlock them. You'd never have a reason to kill 25,000 cursed oak trees unless going for bestiary completion since most other dimensions give vastly more souls and coins than Mystic Valley by the time you've reached the point where you'd completing Combat Quests.

would this really matter in making it a dark type? unless it has some features to make it dark type i dont see why it would

Well why is one dark but the other since they're basically the same concept isn't is the point I'm making.

That's exactly my point. Why would you go there to spend all the time to unlock them in the first place if you don't even get a dark souls buff for all your efforts?

Mystic valley would get its turn someday. Just not right now.

Yeah, and it's not really about a particular dimension being good or not, it's about properly rewarding players for their effort and grinding. 25,000 trees can take DAYS.

And if you use whetstones to farm titanium, you can be maxed out in like 10-15 minutes.

But anyway on the topic, you dont have to force yourself clearing a quest you deem not worth or rewarding as well.

(edit: dark charm is actually multiplicative and not additive like this chart used, but that doesn't matter. point is that stat-wise, this is quite reasonable.)

it's not too crazy, but there are a lot of Dark-type enemies as it is
I'd rather see a new evolution for the Wildfires, they haven't seen a new evo since Pre-UA
