Trying to do some shader effects, and i'm realising the biggest problem, even with my pixelart game, is each pixel on screen has maybe 4 pixels on my 1920x1080

monitor. Which is not a lot of space to do a detailed crt monitor effect.

So i am wondering, is it possible to draw this in high res and scale it down, without it doing the nearest neighbor effect and such?

#

here i am trying a simpler approach, just drawing this tiled subpixel sprite

#

if i scale this tiny sprite down though, the screen ends up being completely black

i actually achieved the effect i was looking for

#

here you can see every pixil has exactly 3 cells, red green and blue

#

The hard part was to align the shader with the game. Cause the game was scaled up to my monitor.
and before it was scaled up every pixel is obviously just 1 pixel big, so i can't fit 3 cells inside iit

#

so the solution was to scale the game surface up by 3, then apply the shader, and THEN scale it up to the monitor size at the end

here's the same shader toned wayyy down. very subtle effect
