#How i should approach Sound Design ?

I can't find much information on this topic and it doesn't seem to be much discussed.
What I am currently doing is looking for videos of sounds I find that follow the sound "I imagine" something would make in my game.
I also use https://freesound.org/ to search for sounds that might be interesting for some action that some NPC does or some event in the game, but I still feel like I'm missing something.

if anyone knows more information on this topic and can share their tips, tricks and experiences it would be great.
