#I've been doing dancer for over 5 hours, help

I found that backing up whenever she does the big spin you have two options: just straight up running, or timing your dodges carefully to roll through each spin. For the rest of her moves, usually the same as first phase? If you have more specific questions, feel free to ask or summon someone for help.
I'm also finding it much harder to find openings to attack her in her second phase.
Yeah, you’re right. The second phase offers less safe opportunities. I found a general rule that if you see her start to return to her normal stance, that’s usually a fine time to attack. Her combos are quite long, so don’t think about attacking before she finishes. It depends on what weapon you’re using.
Alright, thank you. Im using longsword+7 (the one you get at the start from picking knight class)
Yeah, the long sword is a straight sword which is generally the best class. Quite fast, so you could attack between some of the slower moves as well. Also side note: the dancer is weak to dark damage, so consider using human pine resin.
Alright, is it better to stay close or mid range during second phase?
Personally, with a fast weapon, close range is good but be wary of the big spin
Also back off to heal
Not many long range moves
I'll also send a average vid of me vs the boss fight.
Since its probably easier to tell what I'm doing wrong with a video.
I did it, thanks everyone, I just had to play it like Sekiro
try to hug her rear, whichever side she does the grab from. when she drops her shoulder for the grab ROLL!!! most of her 2nd phase attacks wont hit you if youre behind her
I just walked around her and beat her with dark hand that's always a viable option if you fight her again
if dark hand is better than whatever you've been using by the time you reach that point then you've done something wrong with your build
I mean I also did dancer really early
Like
Maybe right after Vordt
this person had a +7 weapon, they were not that early in progression
My point was more if all else fails. This is my first playthrough so like if I can do it I'd assume anyone can
If he's stuck on dancer for that long, a change of weapon isn't the issue
Mane I was just offering advice from my experience. Dark hand and just walk around her took me like two tries
You're still on your first playthrough?
I got to the soul of cinder and then stopped playing for like 6-7 months bc I didn't know what ending I wanted
And now I'm farming covenants while I have access to the whole map
Just don't advice people to literally lower their damage
Again was just sharing how I did it. Quick and easy really early kill
.
Actually look at the context before giving advice
Idk how is it so hard to just accept you made a mistake and do better next time
And equally idk how hard it is to not be such pricks. I was giving an account of how I did it. I also mentioned for the next time they fight that boss because dark hand was a fun way to fight her.
So you don't even actually care about helping people
