how do I get a symbol of avarice…. need it for offline farming

Buy Hunter Charms from the vendor at Firelink Shrine.

Toss it at Mimics (it doesnt aggro them) and the mimic will open its mouth and can drop an item.

If its not the Symbol of Avarice... hit it once to make it close it's mouth. This resets the mimic.

Toss another hunter charm.

Rince and repeat until they give you a Symbol of Avarice and you never have to fight the mimic.

Another method: kill all 13 mimics (non dlc). If you kilked them and didnt get the item, reset at the Dragonslayer armour bonfire and go to the mimic that you killed there (next to the dragon that spits fire onto the bridge). The item will be there.

I had to do it once, some other guys had to repeat the last step 7 times.

ds3 has no mechanic in which killing the last mimic guarantees a drop

Well, once I killed the last one I didnt get the item. Once i went to the bonfire to reset and came back it was there. It doenst take that much time to test it for yourself.

Also: i got it from youtube so it worked for others too.

yeah so i looked up the video

according to him, it's from where you kill your last mimic, not necessarily dragom barracks nvm, he corrected this in the comments

and all it seems to be doing is rerolling for a chance to grab the helmet, since the commenters report it taking anywhere from 1 to over 10 tries

so either way, hunter charm method is superior

Kill every mimic last one you kill is guarentreed but everyone before can drop it
