Basically what is happening is that in game I am not getting any motion smoothing. which means that once my fps drops below 45, the game becomes so uncomfortable to play and vomit inducing that it is virtually unplayable. The option in SteamVR to enable motion smoothing says "not supported" I have tried playing around with all kinds of settings to fix this and have not been able to figure it out.

this is an image that basically demonstrates what motion smoothing is meant to do. it fills in the space that was missing from the frame in order to prevent motion sickness and helps the game feel less stuttery

So is there a way to fix the reprojection, or am I just fucked? What's strange is that when I bring up the steam dock in game it works, but once I close it and go back to the game it is broken again.

That is what I meant sorry.

Ah, the game I'm playing is VR chat so that's not really a possibility as it's CPU bottlenecked.

Okay, I tried it out but for some reason thought it wouldn't work with vrc. I will do some more research and get it working. Huge thanks for all the advice, I'm going to mark this as resolved

Alright. Thanks.

Found it it was legacy reprojection mode for the next guy to have this issue
