Hello, I've recently installedd ALVR and it's working fine, but usually a minute in or even seconds in- the quality of my stream drops. There seems to be no obvious flaw with my computer, I'm using a CAT7 ethrnet cable straight to the same router that my quest 3 is connected to- on 7900xt and 5700x3d system- so nothing there. I've tried to diagnose the issue with a sudden drop in throughput from ~300Mbs to less than 1mb. Is there any solution to this? Im using a RT-AX3000 asus router.
#Sudden drop in stream quality; from near perfect to unplayable.

I've noticed prior to the huge drop in connection, visual artifacts seem to appear around. I dont know if this correlates to anything.
using hevc instead of h264 can be more efficient
such a huge drop has to be some network issue
make sure router is not set to mixed mode
check if neighbours are turning on microwave or other interference
if some old device connects to your wifi it can cause this
mixed mode?
supporting older standards
i've filled around with my router and still causing this issue. theres no bottleneck from the router's end
wan speed is not used, only lan speed
what you are checking here is not helpful
either your pc is not producing the frames anymore, or the network is dropping them
the vr view in steamvr seems to be working fine
along with my phone being able to access youtube n such
none of this matters, as it uses little compared to playing demanding stuff
make sure your alvr is set to use hevc encoder
encoder is set to hvec
set to 90fps
restarted steamvr under 90fps, quality is still dropping hard
does your headset have 120fps mode turned on?
what other settings did you use? should revert to defaults and use presets+hevc
show the statistics when quality drops - and mouseover it to show numbers
check if your pc is throttling
im not sure, im trying to find it in the settings but they seemed to have changed
its a hidden option
sidequest can enable it
check on pc side - has to be either pc problem or network problem
mouseover the stats should tell why - if it says transport latency then blame network
here's the graph around the large quality dip
network throughput goes from roughly 300mbps to <4mpbs in last then 3 seconds
I've fixed it now
After I switched to h264, every subsequent stream I've had now runs well beyond the first few seconds
HEVC seems to be the problem
should i limit it to <200?
