#Cant connect my quest 2 to ALVR

how did you install alvr?
what is the full path to what you run?
did you try rebooting pc? did you verify ethernet cable is connected?
how are you launching steamvr?
also say what headset and connection you are trying to use
downloaded it from github latest release on pc and meta quest store on vr
use launcher instead
im sorry i dont understand what this means
yes, and yes
through the app
use the alvr luancher program only
okay one moment
reset to default settings using the "installation" tab on left
make sure you extract the zip file to some folder
dont run the exe from inside the zip file like windows suggests
i assume Stable?
whatever you want
if you just use normal defaults it should connect to steamvr
if it doesnt then steamvr has problem
okay
make sure steamvr is not running before you launch alvr
this is taking a lot longer to download than it did from the internet
okay
your problem is not headset related - that comes later, first need to connect alvr to steamvr
haha okay then i will look forward to the headset problems then
yes many more problems, but later
try verify integrity of steamvr and stuff like that if problem persists
no but it took literally 2 seconds on github
this is also downloading from girhub
have you got anything on your pc that would cause this?
fighting the allegations 🙏
no way this should be a slow download
welp were about 7 minutes in and its just over halfway haha
your figures are dubious - are you on 5g or something?
i am using ethernet but i dont actually know what router it is haha
that looks like 5g LOS speeds to me
which explains the dodgy download part
and london so i bet you are a geezer
haha thought you wouldnt notice
i always feel like i dont type like english is my first language even though its the only one i know haha
internet is not relevant to using vr on your local network so this is just trolling
ive noticed torrenting is shit on my 5g unless i use a vpn
they heavily throttle stuff - i bet this happens to you as well
its important to make sure version on pc matches that on headset
what is torrenting?
it does
you internet seems good - but they are dicks and throttle everything - use a vpn and it will get magically faster
i do use a vpn haha
but you are in UK so maybe they kick your door down - you know how it goes
hopefully not
maybe the opposite - vpn slows you down
i think it might
disconnect all vpns before running alvr
and make sure ethernet connection in windows is set to private not public
magic
only just begun your problems have
oh no
make it work is easy, make it work great is difficult
its a good start yes
