try this : lspci | grep -i vga

you are missing the other settings

the QT_QPA_PLATFORM one in particular

did u test steam with normal games? make sure that works before trying vr

steamvr is a linux program, do not use proton for it

use proton for your games yes, but not steamvr

and yes it matters that you enable proton, otherwise your games wont work lol

this means your gpu drivers are not installed correctly

your terraria test was using software rendering

fix nvidia gpu then can make progress

i dont see what os you are using....

follow instructions specific to ur distro for nvidia

you will know it works when nvidia-smi returns normal stuff (and doesnt see version mismatch)

users nvidia wasnt working so it had to be right?

look how long that list of instructions is! and yes i have done this manual install many times going back many years on servers i maintain

this is the only official thing nvidia provides 🙂

the distros just repackage this and precompile it

but its too much for most users

kde neon is a bit of a joke if it doesnt provide this for users

i have no idea - its very difficult for devs not to just be shouting ARCH all the time
