Basically the title, details posted below.
Running on Kubuntu 24.10
Playing on a Meta Quest 2
Installed using the Linux tar.gz, no remaining issues with the program itself
CPU is a Ryzen 7 5700X3D
GPU is an AMD RX 6700 XT

I'd provide images or videos to specify when it's happening, but it seems to be under any rendering load. Have only tested in beat saber so far, since that's all I was wanting to play since switching to Linux. Framerate is fine in the SteamVR "void" but the second I'm in the SteamVR home or in-game my framerate sits around 30 and stutters horribly, and I'll see frequent rendering artifacts in the beat saber menu. Let me know if you need files or logs to clarify anything, any help would be amazingly appreciated ❤️

sounds like its not using your gpu, fix video drivers

#

test some normal non-vr games with steam and make sure gpu is working

#

show logs and statistics graph

managed to fix the piss-poor framerate, sitting now at about 80fps average, but I do still get some stuttering and slight artifacting from time to time. swapped gpu drivers to standard vulkan-radeon, here's my latest performance graph

you are using h264 it seems, try h265

odd, I'm using a pretty solid link cable, but I'll play around with some settings

#

no, it's still on

your framerate is not stable, seems your computer is not fast enough to run the game stably

#

make the game run properly first, then worry about the streaming part

#

start by changing your settings to use a lower target refresh rate - do not try to do 90 if you cant keep it stable

#

if you were to set 72hz it might be stable

ah u are right - i didnt see both the min and max said 75 - i just saw it was spikey

#

looks like stable 72

#

so network must suck, and trying to send 400Mbit h264 over bad network

do you think it's just my link cable then? I'm not streaming over wifi so idrk a fix to stabilize connection. I'm 100% sure my PC with a 5800X3D, 6700XT and 64gb of DDR4 can run beat saber just fine

#

unfortunately I don't have another USB-C cable fast enough to test with, so I'm not particularly sure what I can do to verify, but I'll take another look at it tonight

#

my quest 2 didn't come with a cable T_T

#

wow you are just using a random usb-c cable for this and not a "good" cable?

#

get a good cable, or good wifi - or not gonna have good vr

#

switch to h265 might help, it will use less bandwidth - which seems to be the problem

steamvr does not use link cable so its just not that simple

#

it seems your usb is not working as expected under linux
