Here is my laptop info :

My gaming Laptop : Victus Hp Laptop

CPU : AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS with Radeon Graphics

GPU: AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics

RAM: 16.0 GB (15.2 GB usable)

VR: Oculus Quest 2

Refresh Rate: 144Hz

So I’ve been using alvr for awhile now and that I’ve been having a lot of problems using it and since I don’t know where to ask help or suggestions since I’m new to this but idk how to fix it because my headset having a lot of pixelated and glitchy static looo on my screen and of course I said it’s my resolution and the game works fun and such but I notice that it’s slowly giving me a headache sometimes and it’s kinda annoying to deal with so I took screenshots oh what I see with my headset because my laptop is fun it’s running smooth and no lag or any issues so I believe it’s just my headset so idk what to do about it.

The last thing for now is that my alvr randomly disconnects for some reason which I got a bit use too but after a while it’s gets annoying but my main issue for rn is the static and pixelated screen because I cracked up the resolution and everything and even though I was laggy it still shows up regardless what changes I do

And I also forgot I having audio issues as well where it won’t connect to my headset for mix like I can hear the game and people but just can’t use my mic

use 90hz and hevc only

#

and make sure bitrate doesnt peak over 200

#

when u turn things up past what it can handle = things look worse

#

so stop doing that

#

your headset has max decode capacity of 200Mbit hevc - thats the best you it can display

#

your pc can probably produce more than this - but that wont make it to headset - instead will get artifacting

#

if you want to use h264 it can decode 800Mbit or more, but this doesnt mean h264 is better

#

using amd h264 might be little bit better

#

with nvidia i cant see any evidence that it is

It’s a lot better but I still see some pixels and glitch stuff on worlds some worlds are worse than others but it’s playable but kinda hurts the eyes but it’s ok for now but rn it’s just my audio my mic phone rn

Its disabled

#

How I do all this

devout bolt
#

Ok

#

the default settings are almost perfect, all i do is switch to high preset, enable h265, increase fixed encoding a bit

#

if you disable foveated encoding you are crippling performance

#

just tweak it so its not noticeable as much - the defaults are too agressive

I let you know if things happened
