You've paired the Joycons with the AVP and they show as connected in Settings->Bluetooth?
In the ALVR settings I have Controllers set to on and Gestures set to off. Emulation mode is Quest 2 Touch (the default, I think). Pretty sure that is all I needed to do to get them working OK.
Main issue I have with Joycons is that they rarely reconnect and I have to forget/re-pair them with the AVP almost every time I go to use them.
This is all on VisionOS 1.3. Haven't tried 2.0 yet.
So maybe I have to reinstall ALVR for a fith time, but I cannot find the gesutres setting in 20.11 for the life of me.
But yes the joycons are connected to the avp, but are there any other setting in the launcher i should have set?
Lastly, my main goal was to get hand gestures as my controller of choice. I have never used steam VR before, so when it launches im prompted to press y or b on a controller. It glitches back and fourth between quest 2 controller and and xbox looking controller
Ill try to share some videos of what i mean. Mainly my issue seems to be that no controllers are being read to help me set up my first time using Steam VR in the VR house
I reinstalled the laucer and cannot find gestures anywhere
Ah I'm still on 20.10. It looks like there was a change for 20.11. I'm guessing it has something to do with the SteamVR Input 2.0 and/or Hand Skeleton tracking settings. Maybe try playing around with some different options on those. Could also try going back to 20.10.
okay so i got the joy cons movment to work, but i had to practicaly be toching my hands to the AVP to allow the input. But the buttons still did not work. I think im going to try and install the previous version
yeah went back to 2.10 and its woking just fine now
