#Steamvr error 300

What's been happening:
In the preceding few days, if I load a save in Half Life Alyx after having already been loaded into the game, HL:A would freeze, and the image in my headset wouldn't go away even after closing it, I'd need to restart SteamVR entirely.

Today, when focusing on the Elite Dangerous window from Easyeffects, the same thing occurred, however, when restarting SteamVR this time, this error occurred, and ALVR didn't connect to SteamVR

What I've tried: Deleting all SteamVR related files and reinstalling, using different versions of SteamVR

SteamVR is installed on my primary SSD, however, my games are installed on a secondary ssd mounted to "~/Vidya"

I'm on Intel/Nvidia, but have entirely disabled my iGPU with optimus-manager

amdvlk is not present on my system

I'd been on 535 thru the aur for a while but heard that 555 worked ok

I updated like a week before I started playing any VR again

i heavily doubt the iGPU is in use since i've been playing HLA on ultra but sure

nvtop shows zero usage of igpu and usage of dgpu

i'm using a kernel module with optimus manager btw

it also shows this error launching it from steam with alvr closed

it was detecting it until the elite dangerous crash plus it does this without alvr even running

oh by the way i need to click both the [X] in the title bar and the stop button in steam to shut it down

Make sure there is no dangling "vrmonitor.sh" process running. I sometimes get that and it stays running even when I close steam.

i normally launch it with alvr. i'm just demonstrating that it doesnt affect it

well earlier (when it was working) if i launched it thru steam it wouldnt connect and if i launched it thru alvr it would so i figured which one i launch it thru might affect it

but launching it either way gives the same result even if alvr isnt running

to be honest once monado support is there i probably will never open steamvr again, if you think theres going to be support within the next 2 months then i won't even bother fixing this and just play flat games

yeah but issues that are distinctly steamvr and not alvr are 90% of my problems and i figure this one is too

kudos to you, your software is better than valves or at least causes a lower portion of the problems

just a shot in the dark, I ran verify tool integrity or whatever its called and i got this

HL:A has weird tracking issues with proton for me so I have to use native

i'm not sure what directory steamvr logs to

is "~/crash_log.txt" generated by alvr? its from around the last time last night and alvr is the only app i have that i know of that uses windows extensions for text files

the Alyx loading issue has also resolved itself 💀

by the way when this revived mysteriously it was after a reboot to that might help if any of you get the same issue
